So as the year comes to an end my thoughts are always on what my next step should be. How to be successful. How to look better, how to feel better, my mind is always one step ahead.
This week we have went camping at our favorite spot and it has been very relaxing. I have had lots of time to think and what I’ve come to realize is that sometimes when you always think one day ahead one step ahead you tend to miss where you’re at. And sometimes where you’re at is where life’s lessons come from. yes it may sound like a cliché but the present is in fact a present. A gift.
So I have spent some time this week just enjoying the moment I went for walks, and listen to my favorite happy playlist, and I took almost every afternoon and painted a picture. Granted my pictures are not professional by any means but to just let your mind relax and create is very healthy too. Here are a few pictures of my very first ever painting well since I was in middle school (many years ago) and the one I did today.
There has been a few mess ups in between of course but even those have lessons in them. Don’t use that paint brush or that’s the wrong color but it’s still a lesson.
My point to this is that if you have a dream or something you want to try and go for it! You will only know if you are good at it if you try. This is part of your emotional wellness. A time to create and learn and even make messes and allow your self to play. Life doesn’t always have to be so serious.
Wellness is not just about working out and eating the right foods. Although that is a big part of it.
- It’s emotional or mental
- It’s environmental,
- It’s financial
- It’s intellectual
- It’s occupational
- It’s a physical
- It’s social
- It’s spiritual
We are going to start exploring each and every dimension of wellness because that’s what real wellness is all about.
